Annual Dinner
The Annual Dinner, held on 12 March, was a huge success! More than 150 investors and community leaders from throughout the region gathered at Wolf’s Banquet Center to hear Commissioner JR Wilhite speak and to learn more about NWKF! Existing Business ProgramOne of the top priorities at NWKF is taking care of our existing businesses. Cj Maple serves as Manager for Existing Business and she works closely with all of our manufacturers, distribution centers and large service employers to make sure that they are being successful. A key aspect of this program is the onsite visitation program. In the last 5 months, Cj has been in more than half of the 120+ qualified businesses in the area. Additionally, Cj works with the KY Cabinet for Economic Development and other partners to make businesses aware that any incentive available to new companies is also available to them. Shamrock Technologies announces expansion
Shamrock, with two locations in Henderson, recently announced that they would be expanding their local operations and creating more than 20 new jobs. Wilkerson & Associates to create 75+ new jobsNWKF assisted Wilkerson & Associates in locating a facility for their new market research center. This facility will create approximately 75 jobs to start and could eventually employ more than 100. Incentives for you and we are not KIDAing. This issue’s incentive spotlight is on the Kentucky Industrial Development Act or KIDA (kid-ah). This incentive program allows a business entity that establishes new manufacturing plants or expands existing manufacturing operations, up to a 100 percent credit against the Kentucky income tax liability generated by the project OR to utilize a 3 percent Job Development Assessment Fee (JDAF) on the new jobs created by the project. To be eligible, the project must involve a minimum investment of $100,000 and create at least 15 new, full-time jobs for persons subject to Kentucky income tax. Remember: Kentucky’s incentive programs require that you receive approval BEFORE you begin your project! If you are looking at a new or expanding project, call us today to find out how NWKF can assist you.
